About 'Future Menus'

About 'Future Menus'

We understand that keeping your menus trendy and inspiring is something that keeps you busy as a chef. With that in mind, we created the ‘Future Menus Report’ to support you.

Together with expert partners, we’ve identified the drivers of upcoming trends and carefully selected eight, which have been validated by over 1600 chefs across the world. These eight trends were translated into well-tested recipes to bring them to life.

These trends also serve as inspirations for your menus, while considering challenges such as labor shortage, energy, and ingredient costs.

As part of Unilever, one of the largest manufacturers of food products in the world, UFS recognizes our key role in improving diets through positive nutrition and reducing the environmental impact of the global food chain.

All contributing to a broader plan towards Future Foods commitments. ‘Future Menus’ will provide an additional space to build towards greater sustainability in foodservice, empowering culinary professionals and inspiring the dishes of today and tomorrow.

All about Hive

All about Hive

The exclusive global launch of our Future Menus report will take place at our top of the range Global Food Research and Innovation Center
in Wageningen, which we call The Hive, located in Wageningen area of the Netherlands.

It is home to 500 scientists, analysts, technicians, and chefs who tirelessly innovate to bring food to the masses that is better for
people and planet.

Often nicknamed – 'The Silicon Valley of Food'– due to the breakthroughs in agri-food tech being generated by academics from the world’s leading agro-food university, start-ups, science institutes, NGOs and companies located in the area.

This unique location enables us to work in partnerships with leading academic research centers, start-ups, and external partners in the most developed plant-based meat market in the world to create top recipes and dishes for menus in the industry. Some of which you will hear more from on Day Two of the event.

Unilever has received external recognition for its work at the Hive – last year the company was rated as no.1 globally for sustainable proteins via FAIRR and we also were rated number 1 of 350 companies by the World Benchmarking Alliance, the first Food and Agriculture Benchmark.
